The children first learn how to be a good student including:
-
Good Manners, Great Respect, Self Discipline, ABCs of conflict resolution, Goal Setting both in and outside the academy.
- It has been stated that 85% of a street fight ends up on the ground. That being said, we must understand that 100% of the fights start
- standing up!!!
- How does it work?
- We teach the kids monthly lessons including their manners and values and we teach them stand up and ground techniques every month.
- The class is broken down as a warm up including pushups, sit ups, squats, calestetics, and flexibilty training. We then huddle up for our lesson
- of the week. The instructor then has a Q and A session with the student making it interactive to learn why we should have great values.
- Show does the styles break down?
- Muay Thai; often referred to as "The Science of Eight Limbs". As the hands, shins, elbows, and knees are all used extensively in this art. A
- master practitioner of Muay Thai thus has the ability to execute strikes using eight "points of contact," as opposed to "two points" (fists) in
- Western boxing and "four points" (fists, feet) used in most sport-oriented forms of martial arts competition. The environment for the children is
- limited contact at a later date in their training. Muay Thai is also effective in a close quarter combat situation where they can apply their knees
- and sweeps and clinches with elbows etc.
- Wrestling; Wrestling has proven its effectiveness in many combat events. wrestling is learning the art to taking someone down and controlling
- them. Our wrestling is made to compliment our ground game. Often times when there is a better wrestler, he/she can decide based off of skill
- level the pace of the fight. The wrestler who determines where the fight ends up is usually victorious. some of the wrestling techniques include Hip throw, single leg, High crotch , double leg and variations of all including a vast variety of setups.
- Brazilian Jiujitsu; Brazilian jiujitsu is the ground fighting portion of the Kids MMA program. The fact is that a person cannot get a blue belt until they have reached 16 yrs old. The black belt is not attainable until 19 yrs old. Our MMA program has the child reaching goals and seeing the progression through to there Junior Black Belt in which the child will graduate to Blue or Purple Belt in the adult curriculum when they turn 16 yrs old. Ultimately reaching the goal ofAdult Black belt when they reach 19 yrs old. Brazilian Jiujitsu is learned and only promoted if you are using the BJJ techniques with confidence and fluidity. thus making it a challenge to attain each and every stripe and the ultimately the belt in BJJ. Bjj is comprised of takedowns similar to wrestling but utilized with a uniform. In BJJ the primary focus is to establish postion an then ultimately making your opponent submit to a variaty of joint locks and strangles.
Fighting spirit: How would you like your child to have boundless confidence? To have the mindset to say no to unhealthy peer pressure? Our Kids MMA program generates mental focus and self-assurance that will enhance all areas of their life. Feel the inner strength, see the external results. Train with a fier ce heart and spirit...develop a "Non-Quitting Self Defense" spirit!
We promote non-violent resolutions to conflict. Students will learn confidence, self-discipline and control as they learn how to act and react to the world around them. Our young students are treated with respect and are taught to return the same respect to others.
We believe in praise, encouragement, and positive reinforcement. We have incentives for good academic report cards and students must maintain good academic grades for promotion to a higher rank. We teach students the value of setting goals and achieving them.
We are on a Quest to Be the best!!!!!!!
